How to Help Your Child at Home

Parental Involvement is VERY important in school!

What you can do:

1.  Make sure that your child gets enough sleep!

**Kids this age can need 12 hours of sleep!**

2. Take an interest in what your child is doing at school!  Talk about your child's day!

3.  Read the baggie books every night

4.  Complete homework assignments

5.  Practice letters and sounds (goal: know all by winter break!)

5.  Practice skill stickers

6.  Practice sight words

7.  Communicate with me: if you notice a problem, please contact me!

8.  Coloring, cutting, play dough...these are to strengthen fine motor skills

9.  Volunteer in the classroom-we love to have guests,

and students are so proud to have their parents in the classroom!

10.  Attend PTA meetings

11.  Read newsletters so that you are aware of what we are learning in the classroom
