· Thursday, May 31- Our last day of school. We will go bowling in the morning, and in the afternoon we will have school activities.
Reading:
Our story this week was titled, The Dog That Dug for Dinosaurs. Ask your student what the story was about. Our vocabulary words this week are: exact, discovered, remove, amazed, guard, growled, explained and souvenirs. See if your student can use them in a sentence. We also discussed facts vs. opinions.
Writing
The students did their final writing in their Progressive Writing Journal. The writing prompt was the following; One day I woke up and turned into a ___________. Tell about your day. It was fun seeing what each child turned into. These journals will come home the last week of school.
Math:
We reviewed lots of math concepts and played lots of math games. I stress that many students need to work math facts, time and counting back change. I encourage all students to work on their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts over the summer.
